Personal reflection:

This story is suitable for children to read because its content is close to children's daily life, which can resonate children. For example, the sentence, David's mom always said..., can make children have deep feelings. Almost every mom says this sentence when they want to stop their children from doing something. In my opinion, when children are doing something dangerous like playing balls in the room, parents must stop them for protection. However, Except for something dangerous, parents can free their children and let them do what they want to do. I consider the behavior that parents control children's every behavior too overprotective and stressed. What's more, the behavior may lead to two bad results. First, children may not have enough strong minds to deal with difficulties. When children are doing something, parents just prohibit them and compel them to follow. Children follow parents' words, but they don't spend time thinking the reason why they must not do these things. What's more, they don't spend time judging what they must not do and what they want to do by themselves. In other words, children depend on their parents too much, and they don't experience the process of thinking and just follow. Therefore, when encountering difficulties, they easily get nervous and just want to ask for help as soon as possible because they get used to following and not having their own ideas. Second, children's growing creativity may be interrupted. In fact, children like to express what they saw with different ways like drawing or putting into practice. Therefore, when they are drawing on the wall, they just want to share their ideas. However, due to parents' prohibition, children dare not to express their ideas. I think that parents can give children more spaces to show their ideas because these ideas can enrich their creativity.
