Personal reflection:
I reckon that this story is special because it's a continued version of The Frog Prince. In addition, the continued version subverts our images for happy marriage between the prince and the princess. In terms of this special plot, I recommend to teenagers. I think that children have had a good image for fairy tales because most fairy tales are not realistic. For example, in most fairy tales, prince and princess must live happily forever. However, in reality, there must be some quarrels and conflicts in the marriage. I don't want to break children's image for fairy tales.
This story also has a happy ending, but they both become frogs and live happily afterward. Perhaps for this story, this is the best ending for them. The frog prince still keeps some features of the frog, so the princess actually cannot endure some of his behaviors for a long time. Hence, they must have quarrels every day. If they want to keep good marriage, one of them has to give in. Finally, the princess becomes a frog, and learns to adapt herself to frog's life. This condition reminds me of patriarchy in the past. Family focuses on father's opinions, so mother only can follow, and seldom has her own thoughts. Perhaps due to this reason, the princess gives in.
In terms of patriarchy, it's hard to say whether patriarchy exists in today's society. For me, I think that it still exists. Nonetheless, in comparison with the past, the biggest difference is that man can respect their wife's opinions, and sometimes let wife make decisions.
